My 21st Party

For those of you whom I haven’t spoken to recently, and for those who just have crappy memories, I am leaving on a much needed trip to Thailand and Nepal tomorrow (1:30am on Thursday).
I will be lounging on beaches in Thailand before heading off to Nepal to go hiking for two weeks in the Annapurna Sanctuary, in the Himalaya, where I will be ascending to a maximum hight of over 4,100 meters above sea level!
I’ve been told that Nepal has internet cafes along part of the trekking route that I will be taking (a strange thought for a country in which 85% of the population doesn’t have electricity) so I will endeavour to send out a couple of emails to you all letting you know of my progress. I might even send some photos from my brand new Nikon Coolpix 5400 digital camera ![]()
As I will be away until the 5th of March you can wait till then to RSVP, respond to this email, or simply leave a message on my home number.
If any of you are wondering why this invitation is itself rather crappy that can be blamed on the car accident that I had coming home from work today (no I am not joking). The stupid car driver didn’t see me on my scooter and pulled out in front of me, totally cutting me off. I hit the side of her car and was thrown off the scooter and onto the road
So after the requisite trip to the doctor to get checked out, and all the annoying calls to insurance companies, I really couldn’t be bothered doing a descent job of this invitation.
As for me, I’m feeling okay, just a little bruised and stiff and with a mildly increased risk of getting DVT on the flight to Thailand.
Anyway I’d best get on to making a start on packing.
Hopefully I’ll see you all on the 13th.
